Death's Head remains hidden behind one of the blasted buildings, one eye on the large transformer and another on the way into Autobase. Grand Maximus detects the signature, he's basically a giant walking detection beacon, but he doesn't show it...he continues to look. Heading discreetly towards the beings location Death's Head didn't survive for this long in his business without knowing when he's been made. He quickly weighs up the situation and decides that he has absolutely no chance at all against Maximus; hell, the guy's SWORD is bigger than his entire body. He sprints for another building (remaining in cover), trying to put as many metal walls between him and the big bot as possible. Grand Maximus isn't really making an obvious move towards Death's Head...and does not his moving. He continues on his original direction, watching the signature carefully, waiting...for something Jazz enters, at a running pace. A photon rifle is slung over his shoulder, and it swings about almost recklessly as he moves. He moves toward Maximus... Death's Head crouches behind a wall as the giant mills around, considering his options. He speaks into his wrist, "Personal log #3002; have arrived in the outskirts of what apparently was once a human settlement. Difficult to believe now, yes?" He notices the arrival of Jazz..."Have sighted two Autobots... perhaps non-violent methods are the best choice here." He looks up at the bulk of Maximus, "Yes, non-violent." Star Sabre has arrived. Jazz switches his optical visor to detection mode, and begins to visually scan the area, photon rifle now armed and in his right hand. He walks forward, and keeps up observations, "Here, kitty, kitty...." he says, with a smirk on his face. Grand Maximus now makes a move directly towards the blip on his detection grid. Death's Head removes his titanium shott blaster from his right wrist and reattaches his hand. He stands up and starts to walk around in the open, in a very nonchalant manner. Jazz sees the Space Nazi's outline, and smirks. "There ya are. Got somethin' ta hide?" he asks, as he walks toward the outlined figure, registered on his visor. Spike sits on Maximus' shoulder, still getting used to being bonded to Cog. He whispers in Max's ear...talking to Max's partner Galen, "Exciting stuff isn't it?" Galen whispers back from Max's head, "Yes...but be careful Spike." Death's Head turns and peers at the figure, "If I had anything to hide, I'm sure you wouldn't find it." He says, raising his hands to show he's unarmed. Grand Maximus now reaches the location, from a different angle, to the side of the bounty hunter, "Don't be so sure." Star Sabre steps out from the gates leading to the Autobase, and he glances over at the towering Grand Maximus. He breaks into a trot, and makes his way to the towering titan. Jazz phsts, "Don't know how ta be polite, even in someone else's house, do ya?" his usual smile fades... he's not wonderfully happy, now. "I'll let -you- handle this one, Max." he keeps his rifle's little red dot focused on DH. Death's Head looks down at the dot, keeping his hands raised; "I thought you autobots were supposed to be friendly to travellers from other dimensions. I found no sign of any of you at your research station in siberia. I must confess to being quite lost. Confusing place, yes?" Grand Maximus hehs, "Yes, very confusing place. If you came through the rift, you should have encountered an autobot almost immediatley. Unless of course, you didn't want to be detected." Grand Maximus isn't aiming anything at Death's Head...but is watching him with a careful eye. Death's Head would look offended if he could move his face, " How was I to know where that rift went? I'm just a lost traveller..." Grand Maximus hehs, "Funny...lost traveler you say? We have no idea of your history etc. But our computer records do match your image with a name: Death's Head...and an Occupation: Bounty Hunter. So tell me, is it accidental that you are here? Or are you on some sort of contract through time?" Death's Head bristles slightly and cocks his head to one side, "Silly idea, yes? Change the future by altering the past, possibly rub myself out." He finally lowers his hands and turns to face Maximus fully, "And, I dislike the term 'Bounty Hunter'." Star Sabre looks at Death's Head as he comes into the picture. He eyes Death's Head, and he looks at the location where his sword is..He says softly, "Maybe you could tell us why you are here? Those who come here with the function of 'bounty hunter' normally do not have peaceful motives behind them." Grand Maximus nods at Star Sabre..."Indeed." he turns back to DH, "What would you have us call you? And the only reason I have trouble believing your story is because you were sneaking around the United States capital...and our base. Why were you if you are lost and want help? Death's Head spreads his palms, in a pleading sort of gesture, "Look around you; place destroyed, yes? How am I to know that it wasn't you that did it? In this timeline, Autobots could be murderous psychotics." His optics brighten slightly, "The act of aggression comitted on me by your subordinate has not done much to raise my opinion of you. And I prefer the term, 'Freelance Peace Keeping Agent'". Grand Maximus hehs, "You kill for profit. How does that have anything to do with peace? And we are not murderous pyschotics...but freedom fighters. This city is not dead, but quite alive...just not this particular section of it." Death's Head appraises Grand Maximus' weaponry, "Yes, why fight a small scale war for money when you can cause mass destruction in the name of a good cause? I can see your point; obvious, yes? Regardless, I had not yet explored the rest of this city, or encountered anyone. In my profession, one never makes assumptions that could result in a premature end to the contract." Grand Maximus sighs, "I'd rather not wage any war at all. But unfortunatley, as is their wont, don't allow us to have peace. They seek to destroy everything....or rule it for their own. Again you mention a contract, what might your contract entail?" Star Sabre rubs his chin, and he reaches his other hand towards the area his sword is. He hitches it out from the metal seath slightly out of habbit. He looks at Death's Head, "I would question the term of 'peace' being used in your title, and seeing one moment you could be helping fight for peace, but tern on us." He nods his head slowly, "Alas, you did avoid a question asked before what is it you come to us for? Surely a paid mercenary would not come here to have a friendly chat. For this noble spark inside of me knows that you do have other motives, and ones that I would not allow for you to do." Death's Head nods, "Oh yes, war not your fault at all, quite obvious." He turns to Star Sabre, "Interesting; an Autobot threatening me with violence without any provokation. Perhaps you are different from the ones in my time. They never assume any sort of guilt automatically." He turns back to Grand Maximus, "If you choose to remember more correctly, both times I mentioned 'contracts' were in the abstract. I never implied that I was here on a job." Grand Maximus hehs, "FOr some reason, I am forced to think otherwise. I do not mean to offend you in calling you a liar...but you were sneaking around. Death's Head blinks, not offended in the slightest, "To use legal terminology, asked and answered. I had no idea of the situation here so I tried to remain hidden." Grand Maximus doens't seem like he believes that, "Really? SO you're telling me that your "future" scanners are unable to detect the massive base complex and defense grid only a mere 1000 yards away? Star Sabre frowns at Death's Head, and he says, "Please do not twist your intentions. You're story is hard to believe." Grand Maximus has no apparent hostile intentions, all weaponry is aimed away from the hunter, but his Galen's side is quite unbelieving of his story, despite Maximus' wishing he himself could believe it. Death's Head tilts his head towards Star Sabre, "Indeed, my story is hard to believe. As hard to believe as a race of transforming robots or, indeed, as hard to believe as the very concept of a dimensional rip allowing me transit here." He returns his attention to Maximus, "Knowing that there was a heavily armed base 1000 yards away made me, if anything, more cautious. Why are you intent on disbelieving me?" Grand Maximus sighs, "I apologize. It's just that all of our past encounters with your particular occupation group have been...how can I say, oh yes, dubious. They generally were not the most honest of people simply because their loyalty is only to greed." Death's Head nods, "A problem all too common in this profession." he replies, earnestly, "Judging by the general feel of this place... a good time for my profession, yes?" He contrives to look unhappy about this. Grand Maximus shrugs, "Perhaps...if one were so inclined to work for Decepticons and similiar scum. The autobots and the Terran Confederation do not contract independant help. We use our own resources. You may find that your only contractors in this dimension will put you in dire peril as the confederation and my brethren would hunt for you. You might find it that the best option is to join one side or the other." Star Sabre hmms, and he nods his head slowly in agreement to Grand Maximus, "I wonder if even the Decepticons would hire outside of their own help." Grand Maximus nods, "Starscream is not the most trusting decepticon." Death's Head manages to look sad, "Very well, perhaps I will consider it. In the meantime, I think I will explore this place. I prefer to know the lie of the land. Grand Maximus nods, "And you are free to do so, as long as you do not cause any harm or adversly interfere with the lives of Earth Citizens, and that includes autobots, we are citizens of Earth.": Death's Head nods silently and heads off into the rubble. Once he is a safe distance away, he permits himself a very quiet chuckle. Oh yes, the Autobots here are the same all right. Possibly even easier to fool....
